“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place.  If I quit, however,it lasts forever.”

"I’m grateful for the APEX Program’s role in my journey and highly recommend it to fellow athletes aiming for excellence. It’s more than a program; it’s a partnership dedicated to unlocking your full potential and ensures you are not navigating your path alone. It’s empowering to be part of a community that recognizes and nurtures potential, especially in regional settings where such opportunities are rare.”

A Bit About Me

I started running at 8, inspired by my older brothers on our family farm.  At 10, I completed my first local parkrun and ran the Timboon Trestle 10, my first 10km.  In Years 4 and 5, I qualified for Regionals in Hurdles and Cross Country, awakening a hunger to improve.

During lockdowns in Years 6 and 7, I trained consistently.  The results showed in Year 7 when I won Interschool Cross Country and Athletics Age Champion, placed 2nd at Region Cross Country, and won the Region 400m.  In Year 8, I won Region Cross Country and competed at State level for the first time, placing 9th.  I also qualified for State in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m.  Joining the South West Academy of Sport helped me develop under Strength and Conditioning coach Will Barber.

In Year 9, I again won Region events and earned bronze in the 800m at State.  I tried Steeplechase for the first time, presenting new opportunities and continued with it. That year, I also captained the Timboon Demons U15 Football team to a Premiership—an unforgettable team moment.

In Year 10, I joined the Regional Institute of Sport under coach Stuart Canavan, ran a National Qualifying Time in Steeplechase, and earned bronze at the Victorian Championships.  Despite a hamstring injury, I placed 7th at Nationals.  After months of rehab and a handful of setbacks, I won silver in the 2000m Steeple at the Australian All Schools Championships earning my first national medal.

Running is solitary sport, but the support from my family, coaches, and community helps to keep me zooming around the track.

My goal is to represent Australia at the 2026 World U20 Championships and dare to dream to run at 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
