A Bit About Me
The sport of discus was a really weird start for me. Coming from a footy and basketball family, that’s all I’ve really known. Always being a bigger kid, I found throwing events easier for me to do. I ended up at my first state championship for shot put, not discus, and came 6th. Knowing I could do better, I started training. The following year I made it back to the state championships in shot put and discus and went from 6th to third in both events. But for me, that wasn’t enough. I learnt from footy I only liked to win, so I really worked hard and the next year came first in the discus and third in the shot put. I realised at that point that discus might be my new thing and worked really hard to be the best I could at it from that day.
