SWAS has a holistic approach and focuses on developing athletes as successful people and quality community role models. This holistic approach to the athlete as a person is achieved through a focus on life skills, personal development and education.
SWAS is one of the six Victorian Regional Academies of Sport(VRAS) that provide vital support services to aspiring athletes throughout Victoria with direct program links with the Victorian Institute of Sport. Elite athletes that are linked with SWAS or similar programs agree that the services provided are essential to the development of an athlete. SWAS encourages all South West aspiring athletes to contact SWAS so that they can get the best assistance to help them gain sporting success.
