The South West Academy of Sports 'Fresha' Tennis program aims to provide support and training opportunities for aspiring South West tennis players. Players are selected and invited by Tennis Victoria based on national player rankings. Players then participate in weekly athlete training and education sessions and quarterly elite tennis camps and the players are encouraged to regularly represent themselves, their club and the academy in a broad range of competitions and tournaments throughout the year. The number one focus for all academy programs is athlete education; part of this in the tennis program is working with elite tennis coaches on a tennis camp basis. Part of the athlete education for tennis is sports specific sessions; looking at increasing athletes ability both on and off the court. Our focus is to build the athlete through education and weekly training sessions but to also keep them community minded and build them as future leaders. SWAS Academy Athletes are:Currently being determined as invitations have been sent out by Tennis Victoria and applications are now closed. |
